• What Warranties Does a Hot Tub Have?

What Warranties Does a Hot Tub Have?

When you’re shopping for a hot tub, it’s easy to get confused and overwhelmed. There’s a lot of selection in the market, and a lot of manufacturers who claim to be the “best-rated”. Of course, you want to ensure you are getting the best value for your money, and that you are sticking to a budget that works for you. But, you also need to remember that a hot tub isn’t just a short-term investment, it’s one that should last for many years to come.

    Hot Tub Warranties

Something you should always ask is whether the hot tub you are purchasing comes with a warranty, and whether that warranty is worth as much as the paper it’s printed on.

Here’s a few things to remember:

Be sure to ask questions, and have a representative sit down with you and go over what all the protections really mean, and help you decide which option and brand is the best way to ensure you are able to enjoy your hot tub for the long haul. Also, look for testimonials from existing customers and see what their experiences have been like to get a better sense of the brand’s approach to continued customer satisfaction.

  • Health Benefits of Working Out in Water

Health Benefits of Working Out in Water

When it comes to workouts and soaking in a hot tub, you most often hear about the benefits of using it before or after an exercise session as a way to loosen and soothe tired muscles. But did you know a hot tub or pool itself offers a great space for getting in your daily workout, loaded with benefits not possible outside of it?

    Why Work Out In Water

    Buoyancy

By submerging yourself in water, your body isn’t forced to exert as much energy when exercising. Unlike other environment, a hot tub provides a “soft” environment for workouts. Not only do you not have to worry about falling, as the water supports the body in every position, but the water also helps alleviate the feelings of fatigue because it’s supporting so much of the body’s weight. In addition, flexibility results due to the wider range of motion the body can achieve due to the absence of gravity acting on the joints.

    Stress Relief

Like any regular exercise, hot tub workouts are great stress relievers. The exercise stimulates the brain to release chemicals that make the body feel good. When performing hot tub exercises in warmer water temperatures, the movement of water against and over the body results in both massage and relaxation. This calming effect can decrease, or eliminate the pain resulting from a workout.

    No Other Equipment Necessary

Due to the resistance of water, hot tub workouts in just waist or chest high water is quite effective for weight loss, cardio and strength training.

    Burns Even More Calories

Sounds too good to be true, right? Studies have shown even just laying in your Beachcomber Hot Tub, burns as many calories as going out for a short walk. Add in a few low-impact exercises, and you’ll have taken a big step in living healthier and happier every single day. Here’s 5 Hot Tub Exercises To Try Now!

Enjoy the perfect place to stay fit all year long!

  • Can You Still Go On Vacation With A Hot Tub?

Can You Still Go On Vacation With A Hot Tub?

A question we often hear from prospective Beachcomber Hot Tub buyers is whether you can still go on vacation if you own a hot tub? The answer is pretty simple. Yes! Hot tubs won’t prevent you from getting away from home, and just because you own a property that isn’t your full-time residence, doesn’t mean that installing a hot tub is a poor choice if you think it would add to the value of you and your family’s experience there.

Prepping Your Hot Tub Before Going On Vacation

Hot tubs need to be drained and re-filled 3 to 4 times per year, so before you head out on a long vacation, draining and cleaning might be the best option.

For shorter stays away from the house, ask a neighbour to come by for quick maintenance 1 or 2 times. There are also a number of water treatment options available dependent on the duration of your absence from the house that will ensure your hot tub water and equipment stays healthy, and ready for you when you return.

Before you go out of town in the summertime, go ahead and add a little extra shock to your hot tub and allow the jets to run for thirty minutes to ensure that the shock has reached all of the water. Once that is complete turn off the jets and cool down the heater to save money on heating costs while away.

In winter, depending on where you live, turning off your hot tub completely puts the plumbing at risk to freezing. Before you head out of town, add water to your hot tub if necessary. Turn down your thermostat while keeping the water warm enough so it won’t freeze.

And remember, no matter the time of year, keep your cover secure! We recommend adding hurricane straps to lock it down, ensuring no excess heat escapes and your hot tub remains protected while you’re away.

  • Enjoying a Hot Tub at Night

Enjoying a Hot Tub at Night

A Beachcomber Hot Tub is not only built for year-round relaxation, it’s built to be enjoyed at all hours of the day and night! There’s no better place to look up and take in the magic of the night sky after a long day than inside your hot tub, which is why we have designed ambient LED lighting to ensure your safety and enhance the atmosphere as you soak after-hours.

Hot Tub Lighting Packages by Beachcomber

    Exterior Lighting

Added exterior hot tub lighting includes our Star Trail and Guiding Light packages. Star Trail lighting, a feature first introduced in our 2017 Anniversary Edition models, lines the exterior corners of the hot tub and is inspired by the natural motion and beauty of starlight. Our Guiding light feature illuminates the steps leading up to our Hybird4 models to add a layer of safety and ease for exiting and entering your hot tub. Both of these features are available upgrades on most Beachcomber purchases.

    Enhanced Interior Lighting

While all models come standard with an incredible LED interior lighting package, accent interior upgrade features include our Eclipse and Crescent Moon lighting packages. Melded seamlessly into the interior acrylic, both of these options not only add illumination to the handgrips to help make evening soaks easier to navigate, but also provide a calming, ambient soft glow from your hot tub as you lie back and relax.

    Everlite Moodlighting

Lighting can make or break any situation, but did you realize there’s actually a science behind the effects of lighting on our health? It’s called chromotherapy, and measures the impact of colours in keeping our bodies and minds adjusted and balanced. The therapeutic benefits of Beachcomber Hot Tubs extend to this practice, with our Everlite Moodlighting designed with these healing principles specifically in mind. Turn your hot tub water into any colour of the rainbow, and create the perfect mood to enjoy some tranquility and calm before bed.

  • Ways To Use Your Hot Tub

Ways To Use Your Hot Tub

One of the most common first questions we hear from prospective hot tub buyers is “how often will I really use it?” You probably know someone who once owned a hot tub that sat non-operational, overgrown with foliage, for years in the backyard. Or someone who purchased a hot tub, used it regularly for the first three months, then stopped taking care of it until it eventually fell into totally disrepair. So how can you be sure you’ll avoid a similar outcome?

Getting The Most Use From Your Hot Tub

There’s a few ways to then look at this question, the first being something you really must consider for yourself. Hot tubs are designed for daily use, so it’s up to you to make this a part of your routine. By adding even a 15-minute soak first thing in the morning or before bed, you’ll start wondering how you ever lived without one. Also, think about more than just one way you can use your hot tub. Hot tubs are designed to help you de-stress and relax, as well as provide the perfect place to socialize or enjoy quality time with your spouse in the comfort for your own backyard. To make the most out of it, keep in mind all the different ways you can utilize it year-round.

The second consideration is the hot tub model itself. By choosing a reliable, high-quality brand, you’ll be able to focus on the benefits of the purchase, instead of becoming frustrated by continuously high-maintenance and operational costs. A hot tub is a lifetime investment, so don’t be fooled by a low sticker price, and really research product lifespan, insulation, and materials used in construction as you comparatively shop.

Finally, place it somewhere convenient for all-year access. How often you will really use it is directly related to how close your hot tub is to your home. On a dark morning, or when it’s freezing outside, are you really going to trek across the yard to get in the hot tub every day? Position your spa in close proximity to a door. If you are worried about noise, then be sure to choose a model with a dedicated circulation pump that quietly circulates the water 24 hours a day, eliminating the need for loud filtration cycles.

  • What Are My Hot Tub Water Care Options?

What Are My Hot Tub Water Care Options?

As you’re debating investing in a hot tub, one thing that undoubtedly keeps coming up is the maintenance and safety requirements. Choosing the right Water Care system is something that can impact the enjoyment and use you and your family get out of the purchase. Before you select a program, be sure you look at the full list of available options and weigh the pros and cons to ensure your selection is the one that makes the most sense.

Here’s a quick rundown on the water treatment options for your Beachcomber Hot Tub:

    CARE FREE WATER CARE™

CARE FREE is the industry’s gold standard in water care systems. CARE FREE is a 4-in-1 weekly water care system that replaces traditional water conditioners such as sequestering agents, oxidizers, biofilm disruptors and clarifiers. It is designed to use in conjunction with the CARE FREE BOOST™ sanitizer. CARE FREE is perfect for the regular hot tub user who appreciates the efficiency of blending all the ingredients you need into one great product and loves hot tubing in crystal clear, healthy water!

The Care Free System is available for over 50% Off with our Protection Bundle Upgrade for the month of July only! Full details here.

    CHLOR TREATMENT

CHLOR DISCS™ are stabilized slow dissolving chlorine sanitizer discs that control bacteria and algae in hot tub water. CHLOR DISCS™ are perfectly suited to fit into the Beachcomber floating disc dispenser. CHLOR BLAST™ is a stabilized granular chlorine based sanitizer and oxidizer that controls the growth of bacteria and algae in hot tub waters and is ideal for regular oxidizing. CHLOR treatment is perfect for the hot tub user who appreciates good old fashioned chlorine to get the job done.

    BROMO TREATMENT

BROMO DISCS™ are slow dissolving bromine sanitizer discs that create a bromine residual to control bacteria and algae in hot tub waters. BROMO DISCS™ are perfectly suited to fit into the Beachcomber floating disc dispenser.  BROMO BLAST™ is a practical soluble one-step non-stabilized bromine sanitizer and oxidizer treatment that controls bacteria and algae in hot tub waters. BROMO treatment is a system that is perfect for the hot tub user who admittedly doesn’t test and balance their water as often as they should and appreciates a more forgiving program.

While some companies promote the use of salt water in hot tubs, this practice is something that we at Beachcomber strongly advise against. Salt is corrosive to the pump and seals and will decrease the lifespan of some of the spa components.

Hot tub technology has also recently evolved to also include UVC supplemental filtration systems. ClearTech UVC is a system we produce and can add-on to hot tub purchases in the manufacturing stage as a natural water care solution for removing harmful bacteria, without producing any chemical by-products in the water, through the use of the sun’s UV rays in conditioning the water.

Be sure to research the water care programs offered and discussed with your local dealership or one of our team members online. Find the most effective program for your needs and you’ll get the best usage from your hot tub.

  • How Will I Be Using My Hot Tub?

How Will I Be Using My Hot Tub?

A hot tub isn’t a one-size-fits-all product. Hot tubs offer many different functions, and different models are tailored to different needs. Are you looking for a place for friends? For you and your spouse? Or is it deep-tissue hydrotherapy you’re after? There’s plenty of models that offer all of these benefits, but when you’re looking to maximize your investment based on the budget you want to spend, it’s best to weigh your expectations and prioritize which benefits are the most important to you.

    Choosing the Right Hot Tub

    Factor 1: Size & Seating

If you are looking for a place for entertaining large groups, go for size and seating. When you’re looking at hot tubs, remember that price doesn’t necessarily equal number of seats. We have large and small hot tubs across our 700, 500, and 300 series, so a smaller budget doesn’t mean you won’t be able to afford a larger tub. Our hot tubs come in sizes that accommodate anywhere from 2 to 8 people, with the average size accommodating between 5 and 6 adults.

    Factor 2: Advanced Jetting

If you are looking for more advanced jetting and hydro-massage, then look at options that have more horsepower and ergonomic molding. If hydrotherapy is your number one priority, don’t just look at the quantity of jets, really research placement, quality, and the ability to customize. Ensuring the jets inside the model you are selecting offer adequate horsepower to balance propulsion and airflow and provide deep tissue results is critical before you make your purchase.

    Factor 3: Enhanced Features

When you’re comparing your budget to the models available, we recommend that you make a list of “must-haves” vs. “nice-to-haves”. These lists will help you understand the available options in the price range with your “must” amenities. This will also help you determine whether features like a lounger seat or built-in sound system are really something you will get use of.

  • Hot Tub Accessories You Need For Summer

Hot Tub Accessories You Need For Summer

In the middle of the summer, you might not always be thinking of jumping into a hot tub, but there’s actually easy ways to enjoy it all summer long, with a few adjustments you can read more about here.

Here’s a few of the top accessories we recommend for summer hot tub use:

    Skimmer Tray Holder

The Skimmer Tray Holder is the perfect way to keep a nice cold beverage safe and close by as you enjoy your hot tub soak. With three built-in cup holders, it’s a super handy accessory for transitioning deck drinks into your hot tub. Plastic, closed lid cups are always recommended for use in your Beachcomber, and while we can’t tell you what to put in them, always drink plenty of water before, during, and after hot tubbing (especially in the sun).

    Hot Tub Cover Protectant

Your Beachcomber Hot Tub HEATSHIELD Cover is designed to enhance the beauty of your hot tub, so it is important to keep it protected against the harsh rays of the sun as well as against the elements of the weather. A hot tub cover protectant, such as Cover Care, can keep your cover looking spotless all summer long.

    ClearTech UVC Advanced Filtration

Traditionally, hot tub water is maintained through added treatment programs to the water in order to balance and clarify. Beachcomber Hot Tubs has developed an easier way for hot tub water treatment, though our ClearTech UVC Filtration System upgrade. Harnessing the natural power of the sun’s UV light, this hot tub water treatment technology alters bacteria in hot tub water rendering it completely harmless and cuts down on your need for traditional sanitizers by up to 70%, while producing no harmful by-products as a result. Less chemicals, less owner upkeep, and even healthier water for you and your family to enjoy. There’s no better time to upgrade then when the sun’s UV rays are at their peak!

    Re-usable Party Cups

Party Cup Express will let you custom print on re-usable party cups of all shapes and colours. You can shop by theme as well, for any event that summer throws at you. And for maximum spill proof safety, consider enclosed tumblers, with straws. The Hawaiian coconut cups available on Amazon, would be perfectly suited to a luau themed backyard gathering, and ensures that no fruity beverage ends up in your hot tub water!

    Spa Umbrella

Your outdoor living space will feel more like an oasis if you create a sense of enclosure. In the summer, it’s also important to keep yourself and others safe from the strong rays of the sun throughout the day and into the evening. Adding a large patio umbrella provides flexible shading for you and your guests. Take it down at night and enjoy your view of the summer night sky.

    Towel Packs

Sounds pretty simple doesn’t it? But don’t rely on standard indoor towels for your hot tub and instead enjoy the warm embrace of Beachcomber’s 4 pack of embroidered hot tub towels to make every soaking experience enjoyable from the minute you walk out the door to the minute you step back inside.

  • CREATING A BACKYARD OASIS

    CREATING A BACKYARD OASIS

Your dream summer vacation is as close as your backyard. With the weather heating up, it’s time to start dressing up your outdoor living spaces and creating the ultimate retreat just steps from the door. Below are a few tips to get you started, on any budget!

How To Design Your Backyard Getaway

Think of your backyard as an extension of your indoor spaces

Design your patio space like any other indoor living space when you are coming up with your concept. Think furnishings, lighting, colour, decorative accents, and overall design flow.

    Furnish for comfort & durability

Today, there are so many affordable, stylish choices for outdoor furniture, it can be hard to know where to even start. Before you get overwhelmed by the selection, think about the main purpose of the space. Do you want a formal dining area with a table and chairs? A laid-back lounge with plush furnishings and accent tables? Start with the biggest pieces as you shop, and layer in accents later when you have the budget for it.

    Ensure Shade and Privacy

Your outdoor living space will feel more like an oasis if you create a sense of enclosure. Use lattice and landscaping to define the outdoor space and build privacy screens from the neighbours and inside spaces in the home. Add a large patio umbrella or a pergola to create shade to escape the summer sun. These can also be used to deliver focal points and separate your areas according to function, or provide transitions from one outdoor living space to another.

Add Colour Through Accents & Planters

Cushions are a great way to add comfort as well as infuse colour into your outdoor spaces. You can switch them up after a few years to create a totally new design feel, without having to spend a lot of money. When you are shopping, make sure you select cushions with an outdoor fabric that is UV and water resistance for added durability. Flowers and foliage are another way to add beautiful colours to your space as well as deliver privacy.

Invest In A Hot Tub or Spa

For long, relaxing soaks at the end of the day, a hot tub or spa out on the deck is a must-have luxury. To determine the best location for the hot tub, consider privacy, access to the house, and whether you want the hot tub in the sunshine or shade. You’ll also need additional room for sitting and walking around the hot tub. Remember, a hot tub full of water weighs 2 tons, so it will need a foundation independent of the deck’s foundation.

    Outdoor Lighting

You will want to enjoy your backyard getaway after the sun goes down. Include an array of outdoor lighting by starting with porch lights that illuminate access to the house and provide ambient lighting. For dining and conversation zones, candlelight, wall mount downlights, or dimmable electric lamps create a relaxed mood. Steps and walkways should be illuminated for safety. You can also use solar-powered lights or low voltage lights to add drama and interest to the landscape and to highlight paths. Combine a mix of lighting sources to make your backyard getaway a magical place after dark.
